Allan’s Story

I have known Jesus since I was young. Most of the time, my mother brought me to church during Sundays. I thought I really understood who Jesus was, but I realized that I did not.

I got married in the early age of 19 years old and had a son at a very young age. Since I had my own family, I always had a problem with my attitude. I almost lost them because of my selfishness. I was a cheater, a self-centered person, and I always thought only of myself and not others. I was really weak, I must say. My parents were so disappointed with me.

Back in the year 2009-2010, I was really down and in the moment of what they call “rock bottom”. I didn’t know where to go and how to solve my problem. Someone then asked me to come to a Christian church. I encountered Jesus for the first time, and it was indeed life changing. But after that, I didn’t make decisions on what to do next. I went forward in my relationship with God and later on, stepped back again to what I used to be. Then in 2013, before I came to Canada, I fully submitted my life to Jesus Christ.

My life has changed since I decided to follow Him. I learned to love other people other than my family. Psalms 138:3 remained in my head, that whatever you did in the past, once you talk to Him, He will respond to you because He loves us no matter what we are.

Psalm 138:3 – As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.
