I had the privilege of growing up in a household where being a Christ follower was something that was modelled well and I was very drawn to that life and so following Jesus was a decision that I made for myself at a very young age. At four years old it seemed so simple with basic instructions to love God and love people. As I’ve grown older that simplicity has been complicated and crowded by so many different things. But, throughout my life that simple message has always been my guiding post. Regardless of the human complexities that seep in, the love of God and the way we are called to live as Christ followers is really so beautifully simple. And so what I know for sure is that the simplicity of the message of Jesus began my journey as a young girl and is still at the very heart of why I am a Christ follower… love God and love people.
