THE SANCTUARY COURSE
Supporting mental health and wellbeing
This six-session course explores the realities of mental health and illness, as well as the vital need for faith-based community conversations about these topics. The sessions are accompanied by compelling films that feature the stories of Christians living with mental health challenges, along with the insights of theologians and psychologists.
The Sanctuary Course is designed to raise awareness and start conversations in local churches regarding mental health.
Participants will explore topics such as:
• Understanding mental health and illness
• Challenging stigma
• The recovery journey
• The role of community in mental health recovery
Each topic is explored from a psychological, social, and theological perspective. Additionally, each session is accompanied by a compelling film featuring the story of an individual who has journeyed through mental health challenges as a person of faith.
- When: Thursday April 29 to June 3 (six weeks)
- Time: 7pm to 8pm

WHAT WILL A SESSION LOOK LIKE?
In each session, groups will watch a video, engage in discussion, and have time to reflect and pray. Each session is an hour-long and happens exclusively online through the Zoom app.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
This course is for anyone who has questions about mental health, people living with mental health issues, and people who are supporting loved ones with mental health issues.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
There is no cost to attend.
do i have to commit to the whole course?
The course works best when you can attend most, if not all the sessions. However, if you just want to try a session or two and make a call, that’s ok!
